This has been a busy couple of months I have been working on so many things for others. Currently I have two projects in the works. I’m finishing up the sleeves and trim of the vertebrae sweater for my hubbies sisters baby and then I started on a pretty pink and purple cotton/linen dress for his other sisters baby. Then I have to cast on for another baby in the family, actually make that two more babies. Whew, it’s going to be one busy summer. Here’s some pictures of the current WIPS.

So I took the plunge and cast on a baby dress designed by pickles it’s a dress and turban pattern. Not sure if ill get the turban but I’m pretty sure I have enough for the dress. It’s pale pink and pale purple. It’s going to be lovely. I’m learning how to carry yarn from one row to the next so it’s something new I’ve messed up but it’s not noticeable. Will get better with practice, I’m sure. Here’s a little eye candy of the beginning.

That was when I cast on at lunch today but I have gotten the hem and the first set of roles done and starting in the second set. Can’t wait to see it done. Looks like it will still fit my niece too.

So Mother’s Day is fast approaching so I cast on my Mother’s Day gift for my mom. She loves the color yellow and so I bought some yellow cotton from the local craft store to knit into some super cozy slippers for her. The pattern calls for roses to be attached to the slippers but I don’t think I’ll do that part, the slipper itself is pretty without them, but who knows only time will tell. I got one completed today just gotta bind off and will get some homework caught up tomorrow then start on the other one once binding off is completed. I know she’s going to love them so I can’t wait for her to get them. Mother’s Day is very special to me since I’m very close to mine and I am a mother which makes a whole world of difference.

On another note I started reading yarn harlot today and I have to say I love her books. I’m such a knitter that I love reading knitting books or books that involve knitting in the plot. It’s become an obsession along with fabric shopping and yarn shopping, of which I do daily. I have a shopping cart full of yarn I need to but soon cause I just can’t wait to squish it. Lol

So I finally get the key fobs done.

Now I’m just waiting on Jamie to get here to take them to the POST. She was supposed to be here hours ago but I have a feeling she went home to take a nap. Ugh slow people irritate me. Especially when something this important needs to be done. Anyways here is some progress photos.

So I been working on this baby sweater right well today I started working on the arms and so far I have one started. It’s looking good and I’m confident that I can get it done soon. Here’s a photo for you to see.

So I started a baby sweater a few weeks ago and put it aside to make soakers. Well I got a few soakers knit and now I’m back to the sweater. It’s a beautiful pink baby sweater called vertabrae on ravelry. It’s such a great pattern. Here is a peak at what it looks like so far.

I have about 16.5 cm to go till I cast off I think, then I have to do the arms. It’s such a beautiful sweater. I can’t wait to see it completed. Shouldn’t take too long to complete.

So the past two days I been building yarn overs shop on WordPress. I love working with new themes and learning new stuff. I’m also going to be featuring my soakers at a local cloth diapering store starting Monday. I’d like to get more made up by then for the store. So I started on the cuffs today and I followed the directions that the YouTube video said on how to pick up finished stitches. Well that looked like shit so I took it out and picked up just the back stitch instead of the front and back and it looks much better. So I’m on the 5 row of the ribbing on the leg so I will get it done tomorrow. Then it will be ready to sell. I’m advertising in the local paper and on done free ad sites. I have updated the hyenacart and the Facebook page and am now a member of a few cloth diapering communities for sell my covers. I’m still working on one any sweater that I started and had to put down for a bit but I think I’m going to pick it up tomorrow after I finish this soaker. Things are looking up for me so I will be more motivated to knit. Jamie should be getting some fabric soon so I can see some more soon. Can’t wait.

So I’m working this new pattern and its coming along quiet nicely. It was a pretty slow weekend for me so just now getting back at it. In light of the news today about Boston I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the things that have happened so that we can pay our respects to those that where hurt in this horrible event. This world has so much going on and it’s our duty as citizens to take care of others so in this time of need help those that need it. Bless those hurt with strength and courage to make it through this. Pray for those lives lost and love your family just a little bit more than you did yesterday. Since anything can happen from day to day you never know when your loved ones will be gone.

So I cast on a baby vest sweater this weekend for a special little boy and finished it tonight. It’s a pretty quick knit. I worked on a few hours everyday and got it done so fast. It’s adorable to. I found just the right buttons for it and am going to cast on some booties to go with it. I really hope the momma likes it, cause I love it. Here’s a quick peak at the sweater.

Can’t you just see a fresh and sunny boy wearing that. I bet he will look so adorable in it.
